How To Get Accepted Into A CPA Affiliate Network
There’s nothing quite as frustrating as having an excellent plan for marketing a CPA (Cost-Per-Action) offer and not getting accepted into your CPA affiliate network of choice. Many affiliates want have trouble entering CPA networks because they are much more rigid than networks such as Clickbank, Amazon, or LinkShare. Many CPA guides are sold among internet marketers on how to promote lead offers but many affiliates still ask for help on how to get accepted into CPA networks. I know exactly how this feels. For a long time I struggled with trying to get into networks. After testing different variables and talking with several different affiliate managers (and of course, getting a higher acceptance rate) I’ve been able to conclude just how to get accepted into CPA networks. A Business Is Accepted Easier Than Individuals I had a much higher acceptance rate after I organized myself as a Limited Liability Company (LLC). CPA affiliate networks like affiliates who buy advertising with fat budgets. Individuals are seen as less valuable because they’re much less likely to have money to spend on advertising. A marketing company that is organized as a legitimate business entity shows that it has the money to run a real business. It shows a higher level of commitment than an individual. I recommend creating a legal business entity to operate under for your CPA affiliate marketing. You can easily set up a business entity with the help of LegalZoom, which can get you an LLC for as little as $149. A Professional Company Website (flash-powered) Improves Acceptance Believe it or not, there is a bias among CPA networks. They prefer that their affiliates have professional looking flash websites. I tested this by creating an HTML based company website and a flash based one. I got accepted twice as many times with the professional-looking flash website than I did with a straight-forward HTML website. Once again, it’s about having a professional presentation. If you have money to pay for advertising, you should have money to create a professional flash website for your company. I recommend you browse the templates found at this template store and buy it inexpensively. You’re going to get pitched on personalizing the template for a ridiculous price, don’t go for it. You should go to Rentacoder and put in bid requests to customize the flash template. Go ahead and upload it for your bidders to check out if they can handle it. I found a coder who did everything I wanted for just $30! Have a Company Email Address If your email address is something like “studmuffin90210@yahoo.com” then it’s going to be tough to get taken seriously. Just as you should have a legitimate business entity name and professional website, create an email using your company site’s domain. So if your company name is something like “Ninja Enterprises International, LLC” and your company domain name is something like “ninjainternational.com” then your contact email address should be something like “name@ninjainternational.com” Make sure your IP address matches your contact information at time of signup This is a big blocker for a lot of affiliates. They try to hide where they are. They list a real contact address (because they want to receive their checks) but their IP address shows them as elsewhere. Many CPA companies look at that difference and reject your application without even calling you to talk about it. This is what fraudsters do, so they’re just protecting your interests. Don’t try to hide your IP address and list a real contact address. They need to match. If you don’t live in the USA, sometimes you’re just going to get turned down. When that happens, pick up the phone and talk to the CPA network about what your intentions are and how you intend to target the USA even though you don’t live there. You lose nothing by calling after rejection. Be confident in the interview with the right answers I don’t know why but a lot of affiliates get nervous when they have to talk to a representative on the telephone. Other affiliates have no idea how they’re going to promote the offers they don’t even know are in the network and stumble around as they try to explain the situation. The best tip I can give is to just beam confidence in your voice and always speak like you’re the one the network needs and not that you need the network. It’s OK to be conceited and stuck-up during the phone interview since you don’t have to actually prove anything. Here are some good sample answers to common interview questions: Question: How long have you been doing affiliate marketing? Answer: Three years. We got started doing consulting for small businesses and were so successful we expanded to buying ads for affiliate offers. Question: How do you get traffic? Answer: Our company negotiates banner ads on popular websites that target the same market as the offers we choose to run. We also do PPC with Google Adwords, MSN Adcenter, and Yahoo Search Marketing. Question: How many unique visitors do you get per month? Answer: That depends on how good the campaigns go. Some campaigns attract over 5,000 visitors per month, whereas others get less than 500. That’s why we carefully test and track our ads to get the most visitors for the lowest ad spend possible. Question: What’s your monthly budget like? Answer: We usually spend between $2,000 and $3,000 per month. With profitable campaigns, we almost always make between $1.35 to $1.85 per dollar spent. Question: What kind of offers have you had success with? Answer: We’ve done well in the past with financial offers for credit reporting and debt consolidation. We’ve also had success with dating offers and email submits. It’s good to use specific numbers like I did in those sample answers. It shows you actually know what you’re doing and that you take each dollar spent seriously. The more specific your answers the more trust you create. My testing showed that networks that I gave specific answers to approved much more promptly than the networks I gave vague answers to. What if I have no money for a company or a website? Well, I would traditionally answer that you do something else until you do. Since I’m trying to be helpful here, I’ll say that you add notes on your application explaining that you don’t have a website, that you’re new to this kind of affiliate marketing, but that you have experience in search engine optimization using sites that offer free hosting. (Squidoo, Wetpaint, etc.) If you get rejected without getting called, go to the network’s contact page and give them a call to explain your situation. Once again, be confident and explain a non-buying strategy that is compliant with the network’s advertising terms. If you come off as believable, you can get in, but realize that at this point the network will know you need them more than they need you and expect to still get turned down.

There are some legal aspects to consider, and of course the management, but ultimately it’s about getting a script like Direct Track and running with it. You’ll need to talk to somebody who’s familiar with the legal ramifications, of course, but it’s easier than we’re lead to believe.
